Bristol City Council has developed the UK’s first comprehensive mapping of solar potential for the entire city of Bristol
Although this only covers the boundaries of the City Council, it is hoped that the surrounding areas of Bristol will follow-suit and develop a similar mapping methodology for themselves.
The map can be found here, on the Bristol City Council website.
Once you have found your property you can see how suitable your roof would be to install solar. If you are interested you can then search for an accredited installer using the Microgeneration Certification Scheme website, or you can contact us and we can put you in touch with a local, recommended installer who will discuss the options with you.
Residential solar installations generally take just two days – one spent on the roof and another spent inside your property making the electrical connections. Commercial installations are just as simple, but will take longer given the larger size of the systems installed.
For more information on installing solar on your home we recommend the Energy Saving Trust website.
