Greater Bristol is blessed by being home to a number of outstanding higher educational establishments – including Bristol University, UWE, Bath and Bath Spa Universities, and also a range of colleges and technical science or engineering academies.
Photovoltaic and thermal solar research is undertaken at several of these institutions, and the aim of this working group is to allow a platform for solar-centric information sharing between these institutions, and to allow industry to integrate with the research sector with a view to developing applications for the research conducted by these educational establishments.
It is the hope of the Bristol Solar Group in line with the Bristol Solar City initiative, to develop goods and services using local knowledge and skills that may be of marketable use to the wider UK and global solar sector.
